I've been lurking for a while and figured I'd share something. Excuse the color quality, my camera kills. These are from my pocket moleskine, which mostly gets busted out when I'm bored in class.

i'm creating a mailing list which will focus on everyone in the mailing list sharing each other's journal prompts, journal pages, and creativity. i will set the group a weekly journal theme which everyone can participate in, for example a theme one week may be colours, or a season. we will email each other with inspiration, photos of our journals, advice and questions, as well as any other conversations that might happen :)

i have been journalling since i was 13, and i am now nearly 21. i used to have a mailing list like this when i was 15, it was a very small close knit group, and eventually we were creating journals and mailing them to each other! (this isn't a requirement for the mailing list i hope to create) so who knows what will happen. i am just looking for fellow journal creative souls who would be interested in a small group of people, who all journal, to talk, share and inspire each other.

you don't have to be journalling every day to join... just reply or email me at naomi.jadex5 at gmail.com if you're interested <3

What type/brand of pen would you recommend for colouring in stamped outlines?
I currently only have fineliners.

'Ello! I haven't been around here in a veryveryvery long time! Because I gave birth to my first baby (a girl!) back in October. & I've been spending all of my time being a new-mom. But here are a few of the things I've been working on: Below is the only(!) digital journal I've made since I got pregnant. & Under the cut is a new project I've been working on - alphabet art.

5 alphabet art pieces: R, S, F, G, & B.) )

You can see lots more of my art at http://hercoffin.net/projects.html if you're interested. !

Made a scrapbook for our 2nd Anniversary, ran out of ideas and somehow the scrapbook ended up just like the one I did for our 1st Anniversary (click here).

a plea for help [Apr. 15th, 2012|05:30 pm]

myrags
I've not posted on here for so long, because I've not been journalling well at all for the past year or so. I have been doing it, but without the energy or passion I used to have for it. My old diaries are full of lengthy and detailed text, drawings and photos and receipts and cuttings from magazines and so on. The diaries I've had over the past year or so have been short, stubby text entries that have meant nothing to me, not made me feel any better or had any impact on me whatsoever. I'm really struggling.

The past month has been terrible for me. I've been through a hell of a lot, and I'm still not totally OK. Earlier today I picked up my diary and wrote in it for the first time in about a month. And it felt totally unremarkable. Just messy text that I never want to read again, and it made me feel nothing at all. Some people eat up diaries when they are going through bad times - their diary becomes their best friend, and they let all of their emotions out into it. But I just seem to dry up.

I would still like to keep diaries, but I think I need a totally new approach to them. I need something which puts me in touch with my feelings and which actually helps me to deal with my emotions. I think though I am reluctant to write because I don't want to hold bad memories in a book. I considered a journal for only positive, good things, but I never got around to starting that - because then so much bad stuff happened, it seemed a ridiculous idea.

My question to you is... have you ever created a new approach to your journalling/diary-writing, perhaps due to a change in your life, and if so how did you do it? And did it work?

I'd also like to see examples of journal pages you find inspiring (yours or any others you have bookmarked), particularly if they are to do with coping with difficult times.

I just need to find myself again, as at the moment I am totally lost. Inspiration is what I need.

Greetings, [info]jr__nallers! It's been nearly three months since my last post so I'm back to share the end of my last diary (which I posted here), and the beginning of my new one (and a lot more besides!). This one's a moleskine!

I have no idea where the picture came from, but I thought it was cool. I laminated it and wrote on it ._. The back of my journal is usually full of stuff so here's a selection. Business cards, mini calendars and schedules I was handed at work (it's the start of the academic year over here, so we're getting inundated with these... and I got two sets of the same because I unwisely tucked on in the back of my diary when I got it). I also have my cheat-sheets - a pair of line guides I made myself, and a figure template that I think I downloaded from the moleskinerie or somewhere similar. And right in the back is a print out of a fic I'm writing...

I'm about half way through this journal. If I keep putting stuff like this in it, I don't think the spine will hold up.

Please take a look beyond the cut if you'd like to see more! Be warned, though, there is a LOT of it. Like, 40+ images...

I've never posted here before, or commented, really, but I'm really inspired by those of you who do. These are a few pages from a journal I'm working on. These haven't been written on yet. Also, these were taken with a webcam, so excuse the quality.

two more pages... )
